Remnant was inspired by a dried seed pod from an African Tulip tree I found in Hawaii. I was immediately drawn to its unique shape and textures. Later, I learned that the pod was part of the tree’s highly invasive means of spreading. It was a reminder that even beautiful things can hold something unexpected beneath the surface.
